If you are looking for a marathon that is characterised above all by beautiful nature, then there is no way around the Wolfgangsee Run in St. Wolfgang (Austria). As the name suggests, the Wolfgangseelauf runs directly around the beautiful Wolfgangsee lake in the Salzkammergut region. With every metre you run, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the lake and the mountains, making the marathon an unforgettable experience.
Every year, around 6,000 participants set off to run one of the most beautiful natural marathons in Europe. In addition to the marathon, you can also take part in three other races at the Wolfgangsee Run. There is a 5.2 km, a 10 km and a 27 km run. The 27 km race is the secret main event, as it has been organised since 1972. The marathon only celebrated its premiere in 2011. This means that the Wolfgangsee Run in St. Wolfgang offers the right run for participants of all fitness levels.
