Vienna City Marathon

Description

The Vienna City Marathon in Vienna is a gigantic running event that attracts over 40,000 participants every year. This makes the City Marathon in Vienna not only the first big marathon of the year, but also the biggest running event in the whole of Austria. The Vienna City Marathon is held every year in spring.

At the Vienna City Marathon, you can look forward to a particularly impressive marathon with the historic sights of Vienna as a backdrop. The start alone promises a real goosebump experience at the Vienna City Marathon. The start takes place directly at the headquarters of the United Nations and leads the participants over the 864 metre long Reichsbrücke to the world-famous sounds of Johann Strauss' Danube Waltz. The running route also leads along the Giant Ferris Wheel, past the green park area of the crater and past various other sights such as the Naschmarkt and Schönbrunn Palace. The finish line is the magnificent Ringstrasse boulevard, which crowns this impressive marathon.
