Traunsee Mountain Marathon in Gmunden

Description

The Traunsee Mountain Marathon is one of the most beautiful mountain runs and ultra runs in Europe. If you want to secure your chance to take part in the Traunsee Mountain Marathon, you need to register early, as the number of participants is very limited for safety reasons. The Traunsee Mountain Marathon is held in Gmunden, a small town in the Upper Austrian Salzkammergut region.

You can register for one of three running events at the Traunsee Mountain Marathon in Gmunden. The two half-distances are 30 km and 33 km long and have 2,000 and 2,500 metres of altitude respectively. The running course runs along one half of Lake Traunsee in each case. Solid preparation is therefore an absolute must, even for the ‘short’ runs.

If you want to push yourself to the limit, the mountain run is the event of choice for you. Here you have to cover 63 km and overcome an incredible 4,500 metres in altitude. The running route takes you all the way around Lake Traunsee and runs partly through high alpine terrain. You should therefore be absolutely sure-footed and have plenty of experience before taking on this ultra run.
