The Scenic Trail is not just any trail run. Since its premiere in 2013, the Scenic Trail has been named Trail Run of the Year at the Swiss Ultra Trail Awards in 2015, 2016 and 2017. This makes the Scenic Trail in Tesserete (Switzerland) one of the best trail runs to be found anywhere in Europe.
The Scenic Trail in Tesserete is a breathtaking trail run in Switzerland that combines not only a beautiful but also an extremely challenging running route to perfection. So it's no wonder that the Scenic Trail has climbed the Olympus of trail runs in just a few years. In terms of difficulty, the Scenic Trail is aimed at the absolute pros among you. You should therefore have a lot of trail running experience and be able to move safely in alpine terrain in order to take part in the Scenic Trail. Even the introductory trail (Skyrun), which is 27 km long, has a whopping 2,200 metres of altitude difference. An incredible 3,800 metres in altitude await you on the 54 km event. The Ultrarun, with a length of 113 km, will blow all dimensions out of the water. Here you have to overcome no less than 7,400 metres in altitude. But that's not all. To top it all off, there is also a 167 km long run in which you have to overcome an incredible 12,000 metres of altitude. If you prefer things short and crisp, you can register for the K4 Vertical. This event features a 4.5 km running course with a whopping 880 metres of elevation gain. As you can see, every single run is extremely challenging. You should therefore only take part if you are guaranteed to be 100% fit and healthy. Otherwise, you are risking your health on a trail run with this profile.
