The Salzburg Trailrunning Festival is definitely a very special highlight in the trail running scene. Six different event formats are held in just one race weekend at the Trail Running Festival in Austria. Each of them is unique and promises pure action. The Salzburg Trailrunning Festival has been held since 2012 and inspires several thousand participants every year.

There is hardly a trail running event that offers participants as much variety as the Salzburg Trailrunning Festival. Each of the six different event formats is a highlight in itself and definitely worth taking part in. Whether it's the Nightrun (5.5 km), which marks the start of the Salzburg Trailrunning Festival, the Panorama Trail (6.4 km), where you run around the Mönchsberg and Festungsberg, the Gaisbergrace (8.5 km), where you run up to the Gaisbergspitze and have to overcome a whopping 1,030 metres in altitude, or the Festungstrail (13 km), where you run up to Hohensalzburg Fortress.

However, the absolute highlights are the Gaisbergtrail and the trail marathon. As with the Gaisbergrace, you have to climb the Gaisbergspitze for the Gaisbergtrail, but you also have to climb 1,718 steps, as the running route runs along the Basteiweg along the city wall. In total, this event covers 23.5 km and 1,270 metres in altitude. The trail marathon, on the other hand, is divided into three different runs. If you take part, you have to complete one run on each of the three days. Starting with the night run, followed by the fortress trail and the final participation in the Gaisberg trail. A real challenge that is definitely only for the absolute pros among you.
