Description

With its special characteristics, the Linz 24 Donautrail differs considerably from other trail runs. Firstly, the start takes place at the mit of March in extremely wintry conditions, which is why you have to be a real adventurer to take part in the Donautrail. Secondly, the Linz Donautrail is not a competition in the classic sense, as there is no official timekeeping. It's all about you, nature and the desire for adventure.

The Linz Doanutrail offers you a choice of four running distances. You can start with the 22 km, the 35 km, the 65 km or the 100 km run. Each distance is a real challenge in itself. Even the shortest distance requires you to overcome over 600 metres in altitude and climb 2 peaks. The longest distance, on the other hand, involves more than 1,650 metres in altitude and four summits. When taking part, you are free to choose whether you want to complete the Danube Trail at a running pace or as a hiker. Each participant makes the challenge their own. But either way, the Danube Trail is no walk in the park. At this time of year, the weather can change in one direction or the other at any time. You should therefore make sure you are suitably equipped for the start. When you set off on the Linz Danube Trail, it almost goes without saying that you should also pay a visit to the beautiful city of Linz.
