Description
The Glacier 3000 Run in Gstaad is also known as the ‘Run of the Alps’. The Glacier 3000 Run owes its name to its end point, the Glacier 3000 mountain station, which lies at an altitude of 2,950 metres above sea level. On the way there, you cover 1,900 metres in altitude, making the Glacier 3000 Run an incredibly tough but also unforgettable mountain run.
The Glacier 3000 Run in Gstaad is a mountain run that takes you through the beautiful Alpine landscape in Switzerland. You start at 1,050 metres above sea level, overcome several hundred metres of altitude in stages over a relatively short distance, pass the glacier and finish the mountain run at 2,950 metres above sea level. The terrain is very challenging and varied. In addition to tarmac sections, you run through gravel and forest paths as well as very rough sections of solid rock, snow and ice.
Even experienced mountain runners will reach their limits on the Glacier 3000 Run. This is because the mountain run is so steep in places that most participants even have to switch to walking speed.
