The Duisburg Zoo Run can already look back on a 15-year tradition. The Zoolauf in Duisburg is organised as a charity run, as the net proceeds from the running event go directly to Duisburg Zoo. This year, the money will go towards the lighting project on Flamingo and Pelican Island. By taking part in the Zoolauf in Duisburg, you not only get your money's worth in terms of sport, but also do good with your contribution.
The Zoolauf in Duisburg is 5 kilometres long and runs directly through Duisburg Zoo. Unlike other running events, you cannot take part in the Zoolauf in Duisburg as an individual starter. It is only possible to start in a relay team consisting of 2 people. Each relay team member must complete the 5 km circuit once alone. A total of around 500 team relay teams will start at the Zoolauf in Duisburg. So you can look forward to a great sporting competition organised in a great atmosphere, surrounded by animals and numerous spectators.
