Bluestack Way Ultra

Description

The Bluestack Way Ultra offers an exhilarating trail running experience through the rugged beauty of County Donegal's Bluestack Mountains. Participants can choose between two challenging distances: a 50 km ultra marathon with a 1,600-meter elevation gain, and a 25 km race featuring an 830-meter elevation gain.

The linear route begins at the historic Donegal Castle for the 50 km runners, while the 25 km race starts near Letterbarrow FC. Both courses lead to the welcoming village square of Ardara, guiding runners along the renowned Bluestack Way. The terrain is diverse, encompassing stony trails, mountain bogs, and tarred side roads, all set against a backdrop of spectacular vistas.

To support participants, the event provides amenities such as bag drops, water stops, bus transportation to the start lines, remote first responders, fully marked courses, live GPS tracking, and timing systems. Upon crossing the finish line, runners are awarded a commemorative medal, symbolizing their achievement in conquering this demanding course.
