With just under 1,000 starters, the Bitburger City Run may be a relatively small city run, but it can look back on an even longer tradition. The town run in Bitburg is being held for the 29th time this season. Nevertheless, the number of participants is impressive, given that just 10,000 people live in the small town of Bitburg.
There are two distances to choose from at the Bitburg City Run. You can take part in the 5 km run or the 10 km fun run, which is also the main run. The running course itself is a circular route and naturally leads right through Bitburg. As befits a running event in Bitburg, you can of course look forward to a Bitburger beer at the finish line. Incidentally, the idea for the Bitburger City Run originates from the idea that amateur athletes and disabled people can compete with professional athletes. So it's no wonder that the proceeds from the Bitburger City Run are used to support numerous charitable programmes (e.g. therapeutic riding, swimming, psychomotor skills, etc.) for people with disabilities. So if you want to get involved in sport and do something good, then taking part in the Bitburg city run is just the thing for you.
