This year, the Big City Trail is returning to Essen (NRW) for the sixth time. You can once again look forward to an extremely varied running route with numerous new features. So whether you have already taken part in the Big City Trail in Essen or are taking part for the first time, you are guaranteed to be impressed by the Big City Trail.
Starting from the Thyssen Krupp headquarters, the approximately 10-kilometre running route once again takes you right across Essen. You will not only run through the Thyssen Krupp plant, but also through shopping arcades, car washes and other buildings and publicly accessible places in Essen. It's not about top athletic performance, but about the experience. For this reason, there will be no official timekeeping for the Big City Trail. The Big City Trail is rounded off by many activities that provide additional entertainment along the route. The highlight of the Big City Trail in Essen is the joint breakfast organised for the participants after the finish.
