Description
The Bietigheim New Year's Eve run is a real running spectacle every year, as this New Year's Eve run perfectly combines fun and competition. Word of this has spread throughout Baden-Württemberg, as the field of participants is very strong every year with around 4,000 New Year's Eve runners. This makes the Bietigheim New Year's Eve run one of the largest New Year's Eve runs in the whole of Germany. The New Year's Eve run in Bietigheim is being organised for the 43rd time this year. The official motto is: ‘Happy Running’.
But it's not just runners who enjoy the Bietigheim New Year's Eve run. Spectators also don't miss out on this spectacle and line the roadside in their thousands to cheer on the participants on their last run of the year. The running course is an 11.1 kilometre circuit that leads directly through Bietigheim's old town and along the River Enz. But even if you can of course start in costume and end the year in a cosy way, the Bietigheim New Year's Eve Run is more of a performance-oriented race. There are even prizes of up to €350 (1st place) for places 1 - 20 (men and women).
